Agricultural work is still underway in the region’s fields, while the yield indicator can already be compared with last year’s figures. Raw material processing is gradually picking up pace.
All five sugar factories in Vinnytsia region have started the beet-processing season. As of October 2, the factories have produced 6,700 tonnes of sugar.
A total of 105,000 tonnes of sugar beets have been delivered to the factories, of which 61,000 tonnes have been processed. Harvesting is still ongoing in the region.
Beets have been harvested from 4,100 hectares, yielding approximately 195,000 tonnes of raw material. The average yield is 474.6 centners per hectare. For comparison, during the same period last year, it reached 485.4 centners per hectare.
This year, sugar beets were planted on 44,000 hectares in Vinnytsia region.
