«Zakhidnyi Bug» began sugar beet harvesting campaign
«Zakhidnyi Bug» began sugar beet harvesting campaign. The sown area this year amounts to 14,365.3 hectares.
Dmytro Kyselyov, agronomist-analyst of the company, told about the details in a comment for SuperAgronom.com.
According to him, sugar beet harvesting started in Stryi and Brodiv districts of Lviv region.
«Biological yield within 90 t/ha, sugar content 16.2%. Now we are harvesting hybrids of Annamir KVS and Concertina KVS. In total, we grow more than 20 hybrids of KWS, Betaseed, MARIBO SEED, Shtrube selection. Weather conditions were optimal, period of stagnation was up to 10 days», — says the agronomist.
As for the problems, there was a late pressure of Cercospora on the crops, but we coped with it.
«Such an early digging period is due to high biological yield (areas for early digging have already formed the yield in the range of 90-95 t/ha) and sugar content of 16+%. We usually start harvesting on August 25-28. This year, the harvesting plan was moved from August 21 to November 10».
