«Volyn-Zerno-Produkt» company is considering the possibility of organizing sugar transportation through Europe by transit in order to export it to the Asian market.

Yevhen Dudka, the founder of «Volyn-Zerno-Produkt», told Latifundist.com about this.

«We are now looking at this possibility, taking into account the balance of sugar produced and consumed in Ukraine, and the fact that Europe will limit us with a quota of 320,000 tonnes. It is obvious that we will have sugar surplus. So we are thinking about organizing its transportation through Europe by transit, after which it will be sent to the Chinese or other Asian markets», — Yevhen Dudka explained.

He noted that it is necessary to introduce a fair model of obtaining quotas between producers, because as soon as the distribution begins, "someone begins to see corruption".

«In my opinion, it is necessary to take statistics on sugar factories for three years and, taking them into account, introduce a quota between these factories. It should be proportional to the average statistical production of sugar for the last three years. And the factory, on the basis of how much the farmer handed over for procession, issues this quota», — Yevhen Dudka believes.

Recall that the European Commission allowed Ukraine to export 320,000 tonnes of sugar to the bloc countries in 2024. Last year, this figure amounted to 500,000 tonnes.
