Volyn region harvested 70% of sugar beets
As of October 23, Volyn agricultural producers harvested almost 70% of sugar beets, which were sown on 10,000 hectares this year (+3,000 hectares).
It is reported by the local publication «Konkurent» with reference to the data of Volyn Regional Military Administration.
So, 329,000 tonnes of beets have already been harvested with the average yield of 470 centners/ha.
«Given the weather conditions, sugar content of Volyn beets amounts to 15-16%. The estimated output of this year's sweet crop is 45,000 tonnes of sugar», — noted in the message.
