Sugar beet harvesting continues in the region: 47,2 thousand hectares have been harvested (95,2% of the forecast), 2375 thousand tonnes of sweet roots have been harvested with the average yield of 503,2 centners/ha. There are 5 sugar refineries in operation in the region, which accepted 1448 thousand tonnes of beets for processing, processed 1321,2 thousand tonnes and produced 191,1 thousand tonnes of sugar.
