Sugar beet harvesting finishes in the region: 48,3 thousand hectares have been harvested (97,4% of the forecast), 2375,2 thousand tonnes of sweet roots have been harvested with the average yield of 491,8 centners/ha — 78,6 centners/ha more than last year.

There are 5 sugar refineries in operation in the region, which accepted 1615,1 thousand tonnes of beets for processing, processed 1489,6 thousand tonnes and produced 216,8 thousand tonnes of sugar.
