The official stressed that sugar industry was and remains a strategic direction of the agrarian sector of Vinnytsia region. The economic and social conditions of the region's development depend on the results of its work.

Sugar refineries provide significant revenues to the local budgets.

Mykola Tkachuk, in particular, said: «Today in Vinnytsia region, as planned, there are 7 sugar refineries in operation out of 36 currently operating in Ukraine. They have already processed 687,6 thousand tonnes of sugar beet and produced 99,1 thousand tonnes of sugar. Every 4-th kilogram of sugar produced in Ukraine is produced in Vinnytsia region. All our sugar re3fineries are completely supplied with raw materials. Also, our mills accept sugar beet for processing from Zhytomyr and Khmelnytsk regions».
