Vinnytsia sugar beet production will increase by 15%
This season sugar beet production in Vinnytsia region is forecasted to increase by 10-15%, as compared to the last year's figures.

Heavy rains in Vinnytsia region at the end of July - in early August added weight to beet roots, but reduced sugar content in it.
During the first decade of August, the beet root growth was 113-344 g. The weight of beet root exceeds last year's figures by 50-60 g. But sugar content is lower. It is fixed at 12,1-13,99%.
«Sugar accumulation is the most intensive in beet roots in August-September, — says Mykola Tkachuk, the Head of the Department of Agricultural Development, Ecology and Natural Resources of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, — The weather has improved and the temperatures have increased. Thus, the situation will have a chance to improve significantly, before the sugar season begins. Sugar beet production is forecasted to increase by 10-15%, in comparison with last year's figures».
Six refineries are preparing for the new processing season — Gaisin, Illinetsky, Zhdanivka, Kryzhopil, Tomashpil and Yuzepho-Mykolaiv sugar refineries. Sokolivka sugar refinery will be closed. Last year, the refinery produced 15 thousand tonnes of sugar.
