Sugar beet are harvested from 40% of the harvested area (22,1 thousand hectares), almost 1,2 million tonnes of raw materials are harvested, over one million tonnes were delivered to the sugar refineries, over 720 thousand tonnes were processed. The experts say that high yield is not only the result of technology growing. The weather conditions have helped the growers. In the second half of summer there was enough moisture. This contributed to an increase in the weight of beet roots, which continued in September. Although in autumn this process is considered to be atypical.

Last year sugar beet added 4,6 tonnes per hectare during harvesting. Now the situation has repeated with an even bigger plus. 54,3 t/ha is the best crop yield for the last five years. Sugar content remains at the last year level — 17%.
