Vinnytsia region continues sugar production season
Vinnytsia region harvested sugar beets on the area of 17.9 thousand hectares (40% of the forecast). 770 thousand tonnes of beets were harvested with the average yield of 43 t/ha.
According to Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, this year's sugar beet yield is 2.9 tons/hectare higher than last year's.
All five sugar factories are in operation. They have processed about 500 thousand tonnes of beets and produced about 70 thousand tonnes of sugar.
Recall that this season, sugar processing will be carried out by 27 sugar factories. Last season, there were 29 of them, and in the 2023/2024 — 30. Sugar factories are skipping the season due to expensive gas and a shortage of raw materials and workers.
