Currently, there are 6 sugar refineries in the region. As a whole, 2699,8 thousand tonnes of sugar beet were accepted for processing, 2467,7 thousand tonnes were processed. This year the average yield of sugar beet in Vinnitsia region amounted to 492 centners/ha. Thus, the Department of Agro-Industrial Development forecasts sugar production at the level of last year in the amount of 420 thousand tonnes.
