Uzbekistan suspended import of Ukrainian sugar
According to the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine, sugar and other consumer goods arriving in Uzbekistan are not unloaded and not demolished at the moment.
This situation has arisen in connection with the ban on accepting supplies from Ukraine.
«Such a sudden stop leads to non-fulfillment of concluded earlier contacts conditions. And given that for the last half-year Uzbekistan was the main importer of domestic sugar, we can say that we lose the main sales market», — commented Ruslana Butylo, the head of the analytical department of «Ukrsugar» Association.
National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine sent an official request to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in order to clarify and resolve the situation regarding the detention of Ukrainian products imported into the customs territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Recall that in 2017/2018 MY Ukraine supplied 560,4 thousand tonnes of sugar to foreign markets, Uzbekistan became the main importer, importing 209,9 thousand tonnes of sugar in the amount of $ 79,1 mln.
