UPI-AGRO contracted more than 100kt of sugar for the global market
«Ukrprominvest-Agro» has already contracted 123 thousand tonnes of sugar for export to the global market, outside the European Union, General Director Roman Ogorodov said at a meeting with farmers as part of the partner program «Sugar beet — the choice of the smart ones», writes Latifundist.com.
This practice is also used by other sugar producers, in particular «Astarta» and «Radekhivskyi Sugar», he said.
Roman Ogorodov noted that the company expects a reduction in sugar production.
«If before that we planned to produce about 320,000 tonnes of sugar, now we see that it will be about 310,000 tonnes. Such a decrease in sugar production at our company will occur due to very difficult weather and climate conditions», — he said.
According to Roman Ogorodov, the situation with sugar beets is difficult in three branches of the company in Podilla. The Zabolotnya branch is a little better, "in Nemyriv sugar beets have also dried up a little, the other three branches are more or less this year".
