Last year, «Ukrprominvest-Agro» launched a large-scale program of cooperation with farmers for sugar beet growing and processing «Sugar beet — the choice of smart», which has already joined dozens of companies in Vinnytsia and neighboring regions.

It is announced by the company on its Facebook-page.

«The difficulties of today have only highlighted the importance and economic feasibility of sugar beet production. With uncertain prospects for grain and oil exports due to the blockade of ports, sugar beet is gaining more and more farmers' attention», — the statement said.

Among the partners of «Ukrprominvest-Agro», who joined the cooperation under «Sugar beet — the choice of smart» program — Anatoliy Komar, the head of «Ridnyi Kray», whose lands are spread in the former Yampil and Chernivtsi districts of Vinnytsia. It grows mainly winter wheat, barley, corn, sunflower and fodder crops.

«We also sowed sugar beets, but only from time to time and on relatively small areas, as we specialize in other crops, under which the technological subtleties of the company are sharpened. The cooperation with «Ukrprominvest-Agro» is prompted by the need to meet the needs of landlords, whose contracts stipulate the issuance of 50 kg of sugar per share annually. When their own sugar reserves ran out, people were offered monetary compensation, but most of them refused, and it was sugar that was needed», — says Anatoliy Komar.

According to him, last year 40 hectares were sown with sugar beets, this year the area of sugar beets will be 4 times increased.

«Sugar beets growing is a rather complex and costly process, but sugar beets provide the farm with the best results and a good incomes, and the lands of «Ridnyi Kray» with the stock of strategic product. The war will make serious adjustments to our work, show our strengths and weaknesses, and change our priorities. Today we need to work harder than ever to establish new logistics for the export of products, to preserve foreign and domestic markets as much as it possible, to replenish stocks of strategic products», — the farmer concludes.
