Currently there are 40 sugar refineries with a daily capacity of 172,4 thousand tonnes of sugar beet processing, which is 6% more than last year.

«This year sugar content is slightly lower, compared with last year's figures — 17,22% to 17,86%, and accordingly the sugar output is also slightly lower — 14,24 (14,87 last year). However, according to the Association, sugar production will be at the level of last year — about 2 million tonnes», — commented Ruslana Butylo, the head of the analytical department of «Ukrsugar».

As of October 30, 227,1 thousand hectares of sugar beet were harvested, accounting for 71% of the total area. Most of them were harvested in Vinnytsia, Poltava and Khmelnytsk regions.
