Since the beginning of the year Ukraine increased export of chocolate to the countries of the European Union by 35% — to 10 thousand tonnes, as compared to the same period last year.

It was reported by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva, according to «Ukrainian News».

She says, in monetary terms, over 10 months export of Ukrainian chocolate in the EU amounted to more than $ 23 million.

«We already export chocolate to the European Union, and according to our statistics, in 10 months of this year, our export of chocolate to the EU countries has increased by 35%, we have put there more than 10 thousand tonnes. I think this is not bad, given that chocolate is a fairly untied product on the European market, and the market is busy with big players», — Olga Trofimtseva says.

She also noted that the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine of April 13, 2016, which introduces new requirements for cocoa and chocolate products from January 1, 2018, in accordance with the EU legislation, will allow chocolate producers to feel more confident in foreign markets, in particular, European ones.
