The Republic of Fiji increases sugar exports
The Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) has received several enquiries from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, China and Dubai who are all attracted to sugar quality.
FBC reports.
Chief Executive, Gharam Clark, says these countries also have the ability to benefit from lower freight rates due to Fiji being closer than some other sugar suppliers.
He says FSC will continue to take enquiries from European customers, but lower prices in the EU do not make this market very attractive.
Clark says Fiji has also started selling sugar to some Pacific Island countries where it still enjoys a good reputation.
