Thailand sugar production is forecast to rebound nearly one-third — USDA
In 2021/2022, Thailand sugar production is forecast to rebound nearly one-third to 10.0 million tonnes on greater area harvested, higher sugarcane yields, and favorable weather.
It is reported by USDA in November report.
The Thai Meteorological Department reported that the average precipitation was 5-7 percent above average during the sugarcane tillering and elongation growth stage in major growing areas. Consumption is expected up on higher demand for direct sugar consumption and food services. Exports are forecast to more than double due to the recovery in production while stocks are expected to be down from the 2020/21 record on higher exports.
