There are two sugar refineries in operation in the region — Chortkiv and Khorostkiv refineries. They processed more than 500 thousand tonnes of sweet roots and produced 68,3 thousand tonnes of sugar, while last year only 32 thousand tonnes of sugar were produced.

Sugar beets were harvested from the area of 9,4 thousand hectares or more than 50% of the sown area, 495,5 thousand tonnes of beets were harvested. The average yield of beets amounted to 527 centners/ha.
