Volodymyr Stakhiv, director of the department of agri-industrial development of the region, reported about it for Ukrinform.

«In Ternopil region, sugar factories processed more than 1.1 million tonnes of beets and produced more than 157,000 tonnes of sugar», — Stakhiv commented.

He noted that sugar-refining season in the region will last approximately until January. Factories process beets grown both in Ternopil and neighboring regions. In general, it is planned to produce about 240,000 tonnes of sugar in the region.
