Ternopil region crossed the equator of sugar beet harvesting
According to the Department of AID of Ternopil Regional Administration, sugar beet have already been harvested from over 16 thousand ha or 57% of the total area, and almost 900 thousand tonnes of beet have been harvested in the region. This is almost twice as much as last year.

The average yield is more than 556 centners/ha, which is almost 150 centners/ha more than in 2016.
Agricultural enterprises of Borshchiv, Ternopil and Berezhany regions harvested more than 80% of sugar beet crop. The worse situation is in Zalyshchytsk (9,2%), Kremenetsk (15,5%) and Shumsk districts (19,3%).
Agricultural enterprises of Husiatynsk and Ternopil districts harvested 600 centners of sugar beet from each hectare, 590 centners/ha — in Chortkiv district, 562,8 centners/ha — in Terebovlyany district. At the same time, in agricultural enterprises of Berezhany, Pidgaietsk and Shumsk districts, each hectare gives 450 centners of sugar beet.
In general, 200 thousand tonnes of sugar are expected to be produced in the region.
