Sugar beets were harvested from 10,000 hectares — 19% of the harvested area. The average yield of roots amounts to 455.7 centners/ha.

Currently, there are three sugar factories in operation in the region. More than 226,000 tonnes of sugar beets have already been processed, and 24,000 tonnes of sugar have been produced.
