«Raiffaizen Aval Bank» and Agro holding «Gals Agro» signed the loan agreement worth € 10 million in the framework of renewable energy financing program.

The press-service of the company reports about it.

The agro holding will send the loan funds for construction and commissioning of 3 biogas refineries in Chernigiv and Kyiv regions. Biogas refineries will be operated by one of the holding companies — «Gorodyshche-Pustovarivsk Agrarian Company».

«Gals Agro» expands the field of its activities. The component of bioenergy and power generation will be in the business chains of the company. This will allow to use the resources of the company more efficiently, to increase the income from existing assets», — commented the director of the agroholding, Sergiy Kravchuk.

Corporate director of Raiffaizen Bank Aval, Ruslan Spivak, noted that the bank considers financing projects aimed at improving energy efficiency as one of the priority areas.

«We have supported this project, because it is a logical stage in the innovative development of the holding and can serve as an example of implementation of advanced solutions for the industry», — Ruslan Spivak said.

Biogas will be produced by «Gals Agro» from organic waste from agriculture and sugar production — beet pulp, silage energy crops, cattle and pig manure. A total of 23,3 million cubic meters of biogas are planned for the year, 51,5 million kWh of which can be produced for implementation at the «green tariff».

The heat obtained during the production process will be used for the needs of the holding: heating of livestock complexes and the development of the greenhouse economy. The substrate grown in a biogas refinery will become a fertilizer for the cultivation of environmentally friendly products on «Gals Agro» agricultural lands.

The total cost of the project is about 17 million euros.

According to calculations of the company's specialists, the project is economically viable. It is planned to launch the first biogas refinery in the Chernigiv region this year, the second and the third — in 2018.
