Poltava region produced more than 100kt of sugar
In Poltava region, farmers continue to harvest sugar beets — 24,000 hectares have already been harvested. This is almost 80% of the projected areas.
Philip Pronin, the head of Poltava Regional Military Administration, reported about it.
A total of 890,000 tonnes of beets were harvested. Out of 720,000 tonnes of raw materials, sugar factories of the region produced more than 100,000 tonnes of sugar.
«This year's pace of harvesting campaign is higher compared to the previous year. Poltava region takes a leading position in terms of sugar production and ranks third in terms of cultivated areas», — the report says.
