In the next season, compared to other agricultural crops, sugar beet will remain in the leading positions in terms of profitability.

It is stated in the article "Will farmers sow beets in 2024? And what will happen to sugar prices? Insights from the meeting of "UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO" with farmers" on Latifundist.com.

"Sugar consumption in the world is growing steadily every year. If in 2014-2015 world consumption was at the level of 176 million tonnes, then in 2022-2023 these figures have already increased to 193 million tonnes of sugar. At the same time, if during the last 7-10 years there has been a deficit of production relative to consumption, today a balance between these indicators is emerging," Roman Ogorodov, CEO of UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO group of companies, said at the meeting of the business club of the partner program "Sugar beet - a smart choice!".

Based on the latest forecasts of global traders, experts of "UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO" next year expect a slight decrease in the level of world sugar prices — in the range of $480-500 per tonn of finished products. That is, the income from 1 hectare of land on which sugar beets will be grown, according to the company's estimates, will reach $680-700.

"That is, compared to other traditional agricultural crops, sugar beet will once again remain in the leading positions in terms of profitability," the company adds.
