More than 40 thousand tonnes of sugar were exported in May
In May of the current marketing year, Ukrainian producers exported 41,3 thousand tonnes of sugar — almost 30% more than in April.
«Azerbaijan remained the main importer of Ukrainian sugar in May — almost one third of all deliveries of the month (29%). Significant volumes were delivered to Turkey and Tajikistan — 17% and 16% respectively», — explaines Ruslan Yanenko, Deputy Chairman of «Ukrsugar» Association.
In September-May 2018/2019 MY, 378,200 tonnes of sugar were exported — 13% less than during the same period of the previous year.
Recall that, according to the analytical department of «Ukrsugar» Association, next season, the number of working sugar factories wil reduce from 42 to 34, and sugar production is expected at the level of 1,1-1,2 million tonnes.
