Mexico sugar production is forecast slightly lower in 2021/2022 — USDA
Mexico sugar production is forecast slightly lower to 6,2 million tonnes due to lower sugarcane yields as a result of ongoing drought and poor soil quality.
It is reported by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) in its May report.
Consumption is gradually decreasing due to a weak economy and high inflation. Exports are forecast higher, with shipments to the United States projected at the expected level of U.S. Needs, as defined in the amended Suspension Agreements.
