Mexico sugar exports decrease 8,3%

Mexico has exported 564 892 t of sugar so far in the 2017-18 marketing year, which ends in September, an 8,3% decrease from 615 789 t exported during the same period in 2016-17.

It is reported by S&P Global Platts.

The country exported 156 192 t of sugar in March, a 48,7% increase compared with 105 061 t exported during the year-ago report. Exports have reached 32,7% of Mexico's 1,725 million tonnes forecast for the year. Mexico exported 458 329 t of its sugar to the US and Puerto Rico, 104 463 t was exported through its IMMEX program and the remaining 2 099 t was exported to other countries.
