In 2022, the local farmers sowed 15,000 hectares of sugar beets.

As of mid-November, beets were harvested from the area of ​​12,2 thousand hectares, 683,7 thousand tonnes of sweet roots were harvested, of which 606,5 thousand tonnes have already been processed. Digestion of sugar beets amounts to 16,7%, sugar content is 14,5%. Since the beginning of the sugar-refining season, 87,100 tonnes of sugar have been produced in the region.

«This year, the sugar beet sowing area was increased by 0,8 thousand hectares. Weather conditions had a positive effect on productivity and quality indicators. These factors allowed us to hope for an increase in the final results of sugar production in the region by the end of the current year», — said the director of Department of agri-industrial development, Tetyana Getman.

The sugar-refining season is still ongoing.
