Lviv region completed sugar refining season
Lviv region completed sugar refining season. «Radekhivskyi Sugar» LLC reached a processing capacity of over 7,5 thousand tonnes per day. During the season, almost 800 thousand tonnes of sugar beets were processed, 100,4 thousand tonnes of sugar were produced. The sugar yield amounted to 12,6%.

This year, the sugar beet sown area increased by 1,6 thousand hectares — to 12,6 thousand hectares. As a result, more than 780 thousand tonnes of sweet beets were harvested.
According to the Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of Lviv Regional State Administration Lyudmyla Honcharenko, the processing volumes amounted to almost 800 thousand tonnes, including raw materials grown outside the region. Last year, this figure was slightly lower and amounted to 757 thousand tonnes. However, sugar production this year decreased by 8,7% and amounted to 100,4 thousand tonnes.
«Weather conditions had a positive effect on sugar beet yield, which increased by almost 9% compared to last year, but we received slightly lower sugar content. The average digestion rate of sugar beet amounted to 14,9%», — said Lyudmyla Honcharenko and assured that sugar beet sown area and yield fully meet the consumer needs of the region.
