Khmelnytsk region harvested 900 thousand tonnes of sugar beets
As of November 1, 900 thousand tonnes of sugar beets were harvested from the fields of Khmelnytsk region.

The average yield of sugar beets in the region amounts to 500 centners per hectare, says Wanda Serdyuk, the chief specialist of Department of agri-industrial development of Khmelnytsk Regional State Administration.
This year, as of November 1, 900 thousand tonnes of sugar beets were harvested — 60% of the total crop in the region. At the same time there was a clear zonal dependence, the south of the region registered higher beet yield than in north. Sugar content in beets amounted on average 13-15% and may decrease due to precipitations.
In total, 29,000 hectares were sown with sugar beets in Khmelnytsk region this year, or 5,000 more than last year.
