Khmelnytsk region harvested 70% of sugar beet crop
As of October 23, in Khmelnytsk region 26,3 thousand hectares of sugar beet have been harvested or 70% of the total area.
Khmelnytsk State Administration states that the region is the leader in terms of sugar beet yield among Ukrainian regions.
The farmers of Bilohirsk, Derazhnyansk, Kamianets-Podilsk, Letychivsk, Polonsk and Yarmolinsk districts have already finished sugar beet harvesting. At the same time, Chemerovetsk and Shepetivsk districts have harvested only 54-57% of the total area.
1,339 million tonnes of sugar beet are harvested with an average yield of 510 centners/ha — 30 centners more than last year's level. This year 5 sugar refineries operate, they have already produced 106 thousand tonnes of sugar.
