Khmelnytsk region completes sugar beet harvesting campaign
In Khmelnytsk region, sugar beet harvesting is being completed, the last hectares are being harvested. This year, sugar beet yield increased by 25%.

The head of Department of Agri-Industrial Development and Land Relations of Khmelnytsk RMA Oleg Omelyanyuk said that this year 38.5 thousand hectares were allocated for sugar beets in the region, more than 95% have already been harvested — more than two million tonnes of sweet roots. The average yield amounts to 565 centners/ha.
According to him, from this year's crop, as well as last year, it is planned to produce at least 220,000 tonnes of sugar. In general, 90,000 tonnes of sugar per year are needed to provide for Khmelnytsk region and internally displaced persons.
