In Ukraine it is possible to grow organic beet and obtain high quality sugar from it — «Ritter Bio Agro»
In Rivne region «Ritter Bio Agro» and «Deddens Agro» are principally organic producers. In 2017, they received organic sugar from their first organic sugar beet in Ukraine. So far, organic producers have not yet managed to cultivate such a difficult culture.
It is reported by press service of Gnidava Sugar Refinery.
Who will process organic beet? — this question stops even the most decisive producers. «So far, the only way was to enter the refinery the first in a season when its capacities are perfectly clean and there is no risk of impurities», — explains Viktor Shcherbachuk, the General Director of «Ritter Bio Agro» and «Deddents Agro».
In 2017, Gnidava Sugar Refinery began to process the first organic sugar beet in Ukraine.
«We will prove that it is possible to grow organic beet and obtain high quality sugar from it in Ukraine», — said Viktor Shcherbachuk.
«Deddents Agro» has been working since 2008 and has investments from a German partner. But since 2013, it has taken a decisive step towards organic production and since then it is oriented exclusively on its own funds.
«We do not want to worry about any unnecessary obligations or loan interests. It is more reliable to be on our own. We do not force events, but carefully and gradually implement all the planned projects», — emphasized Viktor Shcherbachuk.
In the future, it is planned to expand the land bank from the present 4 to 10 thousand hectares.
