It is reported by Agricultural Department of Poltava Regional Administration.

Two months ago sugar-refining season began in the region.

In Poltava region five sugar refineries operate in the current production season. As of November, 14 Kobeliatsky Sugar Refinery completed its work, Novoorzhytsky and Lannivskyi Sugar Refineries were at the final stage.

1279 thousand tonnes of sugar beet are processed at the refineries and 193 thousand tonnes of sugar are produced. This year, in Poltava region, it is expected to harvest 1,4 million tonnes of sugar beet with an average yield of 39 t/ha.
