In Lypetsk region nearly half a million tonnes of sugar beet are harvested
In Lypetsk region of Russia nearly half a million tonnes of sugar beet are harvested. The crop is harvested in almost one tenth of the total area, which is about 116 ths ha this year.
It is reported by LipetskMedia.
In Dobrynsk, Gryazinsk, Krasninsk, Lebedyansk districts sugar beet are harvested on 12-16% of the sown area. This is the highest results in the region.
Dobrynsk, Dankovsk, Eletsk, Zadonsk and Chaplyginsk regions are the leaders in sugar beet yields, where 400-450 centners are harvested from each hectare.
Sugar beet yield (376 centners/ha) is slightly lower than the level of the prewious year. But there are objective reasons for this. At the beginning of the season frosts did not allow the crops to develop. However, the experts assure that this season the average yield of sugar beet will be not less than 440 centners/ha.
Sugar beet are harvested, taking into account the needs of sugar refineries, five of which began to work. The capacity is as follows: 28,5 ths. t are processed every day. This is 4 thousand more than the level of the last year. As a whole, 400 ths t of beet have already been processed, this is 12 ths t more thanthe prewious year. The stock of raw materials for refineries is usually created for five d.ays. Every day, agricultural enterprises send over 30 ths t of beet to be processed.
This season sugar content is about one and a half percent higher than last year due to the more technological approach to beet cultivation, the effective use of fertilizers.
