In Kyiv region, wastes from biomethane production are used as fertilizer

The use of fermented raw materials in the process of biogas or biomethane production can replace 80-90% of mineral fertilizers.
This was announced by Oleg Ryabov, executive director of LLC «Gorodysche-Pustovarivska Agrarian Company» at «Agroenergy efficiency and agroenergy security» conference within the Grain Storage Forum, AgroPortal reported.
During the crop production, mineral fertilizers are applied to the soil, the plant gains mass, is harvested from the field and processed into biogas, and then the processed plant can be returned to the field in the form of a fermented substrate, which is much better in value than manure.
«We have such experience in sugar beet growing. We return the separated substrate to the fields into solid and liquid fractions, and under such fertilizer sugar beet yield increases by 10%. In addition, the microbiological system of the soil is restored», — said Oleg Ryabov.
