In Cherkasy region, sugar content compensated beet yield losses
This year, in the fields of «Kishchentsi» LLC, sugar beet was the predecessor of soybeans. This year, sugar beets suffered a little, but high sugar content compensates for the yield losses.
Kornelis Huzinha, co-owner and director of the enterprise, told Latifundist.com about it.
As the farmer noted, sugar beet is grown as a technical crop. By the way, sugar beet yield varies quite widely — in the range of 48-72 t/ha, sugar content — in the range of 18.5-21%. The sugar beets are delivered to Kyiv and Vinnytsia regions. In particular, to the sugar factories in Pustovarivka, Shamrayvka and Gaisyn.
