Gnidava Sugar Refinery invests UAH 290 million in biogas complex
Gnidava sugar refinery plans to invest 290 million UAH in the biogas complex.
Its construction is scheduled to be completed in two years, the press service of the company reports.
The deputy director of Gnidava Sugar Refinery Liudmyla Stemkovska says, the launch of biogas plant will make the company's work more efficient.
It will process molasses and its residues into biogas. The cogeneration plant will process it into electricity offered as the so-called "green tariff" to the local population. The wastes of this production will be used as mineral fertilizers.
The local population is still worried about the nasty smell issue. The plant's management assures that for its part this problem has been resolved. However, it plans to construc the waste treatment facilities, which completely eliminate disgusting smell.
Reconstruction of the plant is planned to be completed by 2022. Perhaps, it can be faster, if there is favorable sugar price.
The line of sugars has already been expanded in order to increase profits. As for bioethanol, which is a natural solvent or acetone substitute, sale contracts are concluded. It will provide additional money for the further development. In recent years, more than 200 million UAH wereinvested in the company.
