Gnidava Sugar Refinery increased the amount of dry matter in beet pulp up to 25%
Gnidava sugar refinery managed to achieve the expected result and increased the amount of dry matter in beet pulp up to 25%, having installed filter presses. In such a way, the oxidation process is slowed down and, if properly packed (silo, sleeves or bales) without excessive air flow, beet pulp can be stored for up to two years, respectively.
It is reported by the press-service of the enterprise.
Gnidava sugar refinery has successfully put into exploitation «Babbini» pulp presses. The equipment is intended for pulp spinning after diffusion. In the past, the company produced pulp, which had only 13% of dry matter, and accordingly the volume of water in it was quite high. Such pulp had the ability to oxidize very rapidly, which created great problems for the company, because it had to be implemented quickly.
«This is a great benefit both for the enterprise, where pulp is no longer a problem, and for the farmer who, buying pulp, can store it from autumn to spring, and even more without worrying about its quality», — emphasizes the deputy chairman of the investment board of the company Glib Galkevych.
Also, newly installed presses have a significant impact on energy efficiency, by reducing the time of diffusion. It will reduce the number of non-sugars that have to pass through the entire processing, and the ratio of sugars to non-sugars will increase significantly.
