It is noted that the management of the holding held a working meeting with almost 40 agricultural producers on the work of the joint food program «Sugar beet — the choice of smart» in wartime. The meeting was held at «Zorya Podillya», where farmers discussed the current challenges, agricultural risks and possible ways to overcome them, as well as the prospects of Ukrainian agricultural market and the development of the sugar partnership program.

It is added that agricultural producers have received the assurances from the management of «UPI-AGRO» that all services used by the partners of «Sugar beet — the choice of smart» program will be continued this year, and the list of these services will be expanded.

«Against the background of the country's current problems with grain and oilseeds exports due to the destruction of traditional logistical chains, the blockade of ports, sugar beet, like sugar, is once again gaining the attention of farmers. Many people remember the 1990s, when sugar was the equivalent of a reliable and stable currency. That is why today many landlords insist on receiving the rent with sugar», — said Roman Ogorodov, the First Deputy General Director of «UPI-AGRO».

It is reported that during the war, many participants in the event declared their readiness to increase the contracted sugar beet areas.

«Unlike grain and oilseeds, which are traditionally export-oriented, sugar is mainly consumed domestically, so it does not depend on the existing logistical risks», — Roman Ogorodov added.

The company's press service notes that the sugar factories of the company are able to work not only on gas but also on alternative fuels: coal, pellets, granulated pulp. Therefore, due to the use of alternative energy resources, «UPI-AGRO» has a lower processing cost and does not depend on Russian gas. This is a guarantee that both own and partners' sugar beets will be processed.
