Egypt sugar production 23/24 is forecast up to a record level
Egypt production is forecast up 25,000 tonnes to a record 2.8 million on higher sugarbeet area.
It is reported by USDA in its May report.
The rise in area is attributed to increased sugarbeet demand with the establishment of new processing plants. Consumption is up with population growth and expansion of the confectionary food products sector. Imports are expected to be up to help fill the gap between production and the demand for rising consumption.
