On November 15, Cygnet sugar refinery completed sugar-refining season. The refinery worked 61 days.

It is reported by press-service of the company.

165,9 thousand tonnes of sugar beet were processed. This  year sugar content is higher than last year, accounting for 18,6%.

The refinery produced 25,7 thousand tonnes of sugar. Sugar yield amounted to 15,5%.

«In general, this season was complicated and short for the refinery. This is due to the peculiarities of sugar beet processing grown in dry weather conditions. But I want to emphasize that in two months, due to the equipment modernization, which is carried out according to the 5-year plan of the company, we managed to improve a number of production indicators. We increased the effect of crystallization by 2,5%, slightly reduced the consumption of limestone and natural gas per 1 tonn of sugar being produced. And this, in turn, is a reduction in the production costs. I'd like to note that this year the largest daily production of sugar amounted to 427 tonnes, and 70% of sugar were the first category product», — said Alla Lytvin, the chief technologist of «Cygnet Center» sugar refinery.

In September, the company successfully confirmed the compliance of the Food Safety Management System, implemented at the enterprise in 2016, with ISO 22 000:2018 international standard.

Further, the plant staff begins to prepare for the new season, analyzing the work for the past season. The company plans to install another filter press to filter first saturation juice, to replace the sugar elevator, to continue the reconstruction of the drying unit, and many other measures. The company also plans to continue increasing plant productivity, reducing fuel and energy consumption and improving product quality.
