Chernihiv region harvested 90,000 tonnes of sugar beets
Approximately 90,000 tonnes of sugar beets were harvested in Chernihiv region. This year, they were sown by only one company on an area of more than 1,500 hectares. According to preliminary data, the yield amounts to 58 t/ha.
Ivan Antophiichuk, the chief specialist of the agri-industrial department of Chernihiv regional state administration, reported about it in a comment for Suspilno, ukragroconsult reported.
«After all sugar factories in the region were closed, there is a problem with beet processing. It is taken to another region for processing. Therefore, ordinary farms practically do not sow sugar beet, only specialized ones, which have the opportunity to deliver it for processing», — explained the specialist of the department of agri-industrial development.
