Cane crush in Brazil's Center-South region will be reduced by 8% — S&P Global Platts
In the second half of September in Brazil's Center-South region the volume of sugarcane crushed would be down 8.6% from two weeks prior, when 45,44 million tonnes were crushed.
It is reported by S&P Global Platts.
The amount of sugarcane crushed in Brazil's key Center-South region is expected to total 41,55 million tonnes, down 2,3% year on year.
Despite lower crush volumes, it would be just slightly lower than the record volume ever crushed for the last 15 days of September, which in 2016 was recorded at 42,53 million tonnes.
The 2017/18 sugarcane season in the Center-South, the world's largest sugarcane and sugar-producing region, started April 1.
