Bukovyna finished sugar beet sowing
Bukovyna farmers finished sugar beet sowing. According to operational data, more than 2,000 hectares were set aside for cultivation, which actually corresponds to last year's level.
It is reported by Department of Agri-Industrial Development of Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration.
Sugar beets were planted by 2 farms: «Zakhidnyi Bug» on the area of 1,550 hectares and «Orshivska» agricultural firm — 483 hectares.
«Zakhidnyi Bug» has been sowing this culture in Bukovyna for several years in a row. Last year, the enterprise was the only one that sowed 2 thousand hectares of sugar beets.
In 2023, sugar beet production amounted to 114.3 thousand tonnes, an average of 564.3 tonnes/ha, which was almost 18.5 thousand tonnes more than in 2022.
