British Sugar announces 2023/24 factory start dates
British Sugar has announced this autumn's factory start dates for its 2023/24 sugar beet processing campaign.
It is reported by Eastern Daily Press.
The Bury St Edmunds site in Suffolk will be the first of the company's four factories to open for deliveries from East Anglia's sugar beet growers on September 4.
It will be followed by Newark in Nottinghamshire on September 11 and then the two Norfolk factories - at Wissington in west Norfolk on September 21, and finally at Cantley on the banks of the River Yare on October 9.
British Sugar agriculture director Dan Green said: "We look forward to working with growers, harvesters and hauliers over the 2023/24 season, and wish everyone across the British beet sugar industry all the best for a safe and successful campaign."
