At the head office of «Astarta-Kyiv» the search was conducted

Today, on September, 6, at the head office of Astarta-Kyiv the search, initiated by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, was conducted with the participation of armed law enforcement officers and in violation of procedural rules.

The press-service of the company reports.

For several hours employees could not get to their jobs, the work of enterprises was blocked. In addition, the separate accounts of several production units within the structure of the company are currently blocked.

«We consider the stated actions of the law enforcement agencies as excessive and unreasonable. The corporate management of «Astarta» is in line with all the principles of transparency. Today, as always, the company has worked constructively with the regulatory authorities to provide evidence, explanations and documentation. Therefore, the use of «power scenarios» is completely unreasonable, it looks like unprofessionalism, or open pressure on business», — the report sais.

Astarta is a public international company whose shares have been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2006. There are many well-known international investment funds among the shareholders of the company, who trust management and believe in the growth of our country's economy, despite difficult times. Astarta also enjoys the trust and support of international banks, in particular EBRD and IFC, which have been financing new projects of the Company for many years. In total, over the past 10 years, Astarta has invested more than $ 400 million in the development of sugar and agribusiness in our country.

At present, all production processes at the company's enterprises are in the normal mode. The company expects that within a few days all time restrictions will be lifted. «We are convinced that this will not prevent us from reaching high targets in the responsible period of sugar cultivation and autumn harvest campaign», — the press-service stresses.

The actions of the law enforcement agencies are the first precedent for the company's nearly 25-year history. «In our opinion, such cases have a very negative impact on the investment climate in the country, undermining investors' confidence. The management of «Astarta-Kyiv» appealed to the General Prosecutor's Office and the country's leadership against the force pressure on business and disputed the unlawful actions in the manner prescribed by law».
