Andrii Barabash, the director of production of the western cluster of «TAS Agro», said this in a comment for GrowHow, AgroPortal reported.

He noted that this year, the farm began sugar beet growing for the first time, the area amounted to more than 270 hectares.

«Currently, we have harvested sugar beets, they are being intensively loaded and delivered to the sugar factory in the city of Gaisyn. The sugar content reaches more than 19%», — said Andriy Barabash, noting that the yield is more than 600 centners/ha (the planned 500 centners/ha).

He noted that culture is labor-intensive, but the most marginal. According to the company's calculations, the income per hectare exceeds UAH 50,000.

«Next year, we plan to increase the area under sugar beets and decrease the area under corn. I think that the price of beets will remain high for a few more years»,— predicted the specialist.
