«Astarta» sugar segment revenues increased by 15%
In 2017, «Astarta» sugar segment incomes amounted to 201 million euros, which is 15% more than in 2016, according to the increase in sugar sales to 440 thousand tonnes (+14%).

The sugar segment, traditionally the largest contributor to the consolidated revenues (44% of total), generated EUR 201 million (+15% y-o-y) on strong sales volumes (444 000 tonnes, 14% higher y-o-y). Nearly 186 000 tonnes of sugar were exported (+34% y-o-y). Key export destinations included Asian and African countries. Sales of granulated pulp increased by 18% — to about 31 000 tonnes and sales of molasses grew by 11% — to around 99 000 tonnes.
Consolidated revenue increased by 24% — to EUR 459 million. The share of exports increased to 59% in revenue structure (51% in 2016). EBITDA decreased by 21% — to EUR 120 million, net profit — by 25% to EUR 62 million. Net debt decreased by 11% — to 130 million euros. 78 million euros were invested in the construction of new elevators, the development of a park of agricultural machinery and the modernization of processing enterprises.
